The Board of Directors of TXRPC convened a special meeting July 5 to canvass the election. The Election committee reported that Tom Hafford , James Garner and Ron Kieschnik received the most votes. There were no ties among the top spots. These three were affirmed as elected to Board Positions A, B, and C respectively.
The Board of Directors would like to extend a special thanks to all member representatives who agreed to serve if elected. The willingness of our members to actively participate is one of the greatest assets we have, and it was exciting to see so many be willing to step up and get involved.
In further business, the Board of Directors took action to amend the bylaws to increase the number of Director Positions from the current five to seven . The newly established Director Positions F & G will serve an initial one year term by appointment of the Board and will stand for election thereafter for the normal two year term.
The Board has appointed by unanimous vote Michael Bird and Leah Kennedy to fill the new Director Positions F and G respectively. They will serve a one year appointment and the two new positions will be up for election next summer.
The New Board will convene Tuesday, July 12, in a conference call, to elect officers and finalize the program for the upcoming membership meeting.
